About

This year, the Lithuanian Comparative Literature Association (LLLA) celebrates its 20th anniversary and invites colleagues, researchers, doctoral students and all members of the comparative literature community to a roundtable discussion, in which we intend to rethink the identity, place and possibilities of comparative literature in the 21st century. It will be followed by an informal festive gathering, during which we will invite you to share memories of the association's activities and history.

In the discussion we will discuss:

  • How is the theoretical field of comparative literature changing in the context of postcritical theories?

  • What do contemporary methodological changes promise for comparative literature – opportunities or threats?

  • Is theoretical anxiety a crisis or a sign of vitality?

  • What is the situation of comparative literature in Lithuania and how is it reflected in global contexts?
